A little bit about the events

Great Plains Ren Fests (Spring and Fall)

The Great Plains Ren Fest, I participate in almost every year. I have a great time, being out and in the elements. I'm not going to lie, it's a lot of work to prepare for it, because I'm always watching the weather and that includes wrapping my books in shrink wrap to protect them from the elements.

Smallville Comic Con

While I've been to this event a few times, I've not been the last few years so I'm excited to be going back. It's always a fun convention, and it looks like I have several friends who will be there as well, and it's always nice to see them. So I'm looking forward to it.

Romancelahoma

This is my first time doing a full-on class. I've done panels and things like that in the past, but I have not taught my own classes, and this time, I'll be teaching two. One on writing to the market and finding a way to be creative within market expectations, and the other is about the importance of strong cover art in today's marketing world.

I gotta say, I'm both thrilled to be asked, and a little nervous. This is something new for me, because, while I have a ridiculous amount of knowledge in my brain, I've never actually taught anyone it. So it will be an adventure. My son has been quite helpful, telling me he'll help me with my PowerPoint, since I've never had to use it. Ask me how to do something in Word, I've got you. Vellum? Photoshop? Canva and BookBrush? I'm there. PowerPoint, I don't know. So it's good to know my kid's going to help me out.

But I'm excited about all these events. I do love going to events and having a table set up, talking to readers and selling books. It's really truly fun for me.

Hopefully, you can stop by one of these events if you're in the area.
